Wesak celebration

Probable schedule for 2007

9-30am -Organisers and helpers arrive and set up alter, displays etc.

10 a.m. - Arrival, Tea - Coffee.

10-15am - Start of the event and introductions.

10-25am - Meditation for 20 minutes, guided for newcomers

10-45 am - recorded Dharma Talk 'The Meaning of Wesak'. given by Reverend Master Eko Little, Abbot of Shasta Abbey, California followed by discussion

11-15am - Tea and scripture readings relating to the birth, life, enlightenment and death of the Buddha.

11-45am - Meditation

12-30 pm - Lunch - cold vegetarian buffet

1-45 pm. - Reading of Poem - 'The Road Not Taken' by Robert Frost.(1874 -1963) followed by discussion

2-15 pm Meditation (20 mins); Walking meditation (10 mins); Meditation (20 mins)

3-10 pm - Tea, further readings and discussion

3-40pm - Silent period with offering of incense followed by Open Circle and Dedication of Merit

4-pm - end; follwed by clear up

4-30pm - leave building.
