Hull Serene Reflection Meditation Group.
A brief introduction.
Founded in May 1995
Membership open to anyone in Hull, East Yorkshire or North Lincolnshire (northern England) who wishes to practice Soto Zen Buddhism in the style of the Order Of Buddhist Contemplatives. No fees are charged, but donations towards the cost of activities are appreciated. We are affiliated to Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey.
Activities:
Introductory meetings offering meditation instruction,
often from a monk. These are usually on a Saturday or Sunday at the Scout Hut
in Walker Street or the Endsleigh Centre on Beverley High Road, both in Hull,
from 10-30 am onwards. Please contact the group or visit our events
web-page for the details of the next meeting.
Weekly evening meetings held in members' homes,
usually on a Tuesday from 7-30 to 9-30 pm. Newcomers should receive meditation
instruction before attending these meetings.
Retreats, walks and visits to Throssel Hole Abbey
are occasionally arranged.
Publications:
We contribute to Now and Zen a twice-yearly newsletter
for SRM groups in the north of England and host Now and Zen Online on
our web-site.
