Microscopy Section.
These are informal meetings for those interested in using microscopes in their study of geology. This could be for microfossils, sedimentology or thin sections.
The meetings are held at the University of Hull Department of Geography and are for MEMBERS ONLY. University staff and students and members of the Hull Naturalists are also welcome to attend.
Those attending have to read and agree to follow the instructions in the risk assessment for laboratory work.
Meetings begin at 7-30pm prompt. The doors to the building will be locked at 7-35pm. If you arrive late you will have to tap on the window so that we know to let you in.
There may be a small charge occasionally to cover the running costs of the meetings.
Please bring some samples or slides with you to look at and share with others, as well as any equipemt you need (such as picking brush and tray for microfossils). You are welcome to bring our own microscope and lamp too.
