Final Projects in Geology.

To achieve the University Foundation Award from the University of Hull students are required to attend at least five UFA 10 Credit courses and produce a "final piece of work" worth ten credits. I am happy to supervise students who wish wish to choose geology as a subject for their "final piece". In particular I encourage them to base their work on local fieldwork or material already in the University's collections.

When you register to carry out your "final price" you will be able to use many of the facilities at the University for the project that are normally available to full-time undergraduates.

It is also a good opportunity to be able to pursue a research interest at greater depth than you would normally be able to. There is also the possibility of getting your research published.

Some of the projects that I have supervised include -

Other group research projects have come out of the fieldwork of students on the courses -

And of course - once you have completed your "final project" you can use your University Foundation Award to enter Higher Education or just continue attending the courses!

If you are interested please get in touch

There will be some meetings undertaking geology project in October 2012 to provide help with study skills.

course notes for students

Note - the UFA will be ending in 2012-2013 so students who wish to complete their studies for a Foundation Award are recommended to register for and carry out their project now.
