A list of glacial erratics found on field meetings of the Hull Geological Society or records contributed by members.

This list was compiled by Mike Horne from fieldwork, with additional data contributed by Geoff Featherstone, Gordon Ostler, Harold Tabiner, Nigel Whittington, Patty McAlpin, Richard Middleton, Simon Kitcher, Stuart Jones, Terry Rockett and Tony Barker.

The sites are arranged alphbetically. There are different lists for material recorded in the boulder clay cliffs, beach exposures and loose on the beach. The specimens recorded were seen loose on the beach unless otherwise specified. Some sites in Norfolk and North Yorkshire have been include for comaprison.

Aldbrough - Asteroceras, Belemnitella mucronata, Gryphea, Exogyra, Cardinia [large Scunthorpe type].

Aldbrough (south) - pink granite, Lithostrotian in brown limestone, spetarian nodule, Harpoceras, Gryphaea, Gryphaea gigantia, Pentacrinus.

Dimlinton (north to large concrete blocks on beach) loose on beach - rhomb porphyry, Gryphea in grey limestone (not found as separtate specimens), grey shely Jurassic limestone, Lithostortion, Cardinia, black flint, jasper,Brockram, basalt, pale brown sandsone, Larvikite, Productus in Carboniferous Limestone, Old Red Sandstone, gneiss.

Dimlington (in front of the gas terminals, going north as short diatance) - Lithostrotian, Gryphaea in limestone, dogger, jasper, gneiss, Norwegian rhompb porphyry, yellow quartz, black flint, Jurassic rootlet bed, crinoidal Carboniferous Limestone, fossil wood, Gryphaea.

Easington (going north) - black flint, Chalk, Lower Jurassic shelly limestone, Lithostotian, Carboniferous Limestone, Old Red Sandstone, grey flint. granite, white flint, coarse brown sandstone, pyrite, jasper, white quartz, black rhomb porphyry, green conglomerate, Gigantoproductus in Carboniferous Limestone, yellow quartz, New Red Sandstone, carnelian [and Larvikite from the Dimlington sea defences]

Happisburgh (Norfolk; TG364312) - Cardium, yellow quartz, red sandstone, black flint (common), septarian nodule, brown sandstone, brown quartzite, red quartzite, ironstone (common), Old Red Sandstone, small chalk pebbles and streaks, jasper, white quartz, clear quartz.

Holme-on Spalding Moor (Vale of York; Church Hill) - yellow quartz, chalk, sandstone, white quartz, grey flint, jasper, Whin Sill, brown flint, black flint, ironstone, brown sandstone, coarse brown sandstone, ?Cheviot Porphyry, Jurassic Oolite, yellow flint.

Skipsea - Dactylioceras commune, oysters in limestone, orthoclase [pink feldspar], Gryphaea, Gryphaea gigantia, large phragmacone of belemnite in grey nodule.
